Look for moderate-temperature heat
Hot water, washing, pasteurisation, evaporation, drying and boiler feedwater are common starting points. Food and beverage, cold storage, dairy, paper, textiles and parts of chemicals and pharmaceuticals contain many such duties.
Simultaneous loads are valuable
Plants that refrigerate and heat at the same time can connect two paid energy services. Dairies, breweries and chilled warehouses may reject heat while buying fuel for cleaning or process water.
Sector is only a shortcut
Two factories making the same product can have different temperatures, shifts, utilities and hygiene constraints. Sector pages identify patterns. They do not replace site measurements.
Screen applications by source and sink
An application becomes credible when a measurable heat source overlaps with a useful demand. Start with temperatures, flows and operating hours rather than the sector label. Refrigeration condenser heat may suit wash water in one plant and have no worthwhile destination in another.
The first shortlist should favour stable duties, modest temperature lift and short pipe routes. Keep direct heat recovery beside every heat-pump option. Compression should serve the part of the demand that cannot use the recovered heat at its existing temperature.
Compare the application with the operating evidence
A project in the same industry can show a workable integration pattern without proving performance at a different factory. Check the source temperature, required sink temperature, capacity, hours and evidence status before transferring a reported COP or saving figure.
Use the application pages to identify measurements and process constraints, then search the project database for comparable operating arrangements. Equipment selection comes later, once the site's annual duty has been defined.
